In 1979, Mr. Thian Boon Hua started a small stall in Chinatown serving Cantonese chicken rice. Building upon the popularity of his silky white sauce chicken rice and emphasis on quality service, he rallied his family members to establish Boon Tong Kee’s first restaurant and eventually diversified its operations to include “Zi Char” (home-style cooked food) and eateries. Credited to Mr.Hua’s hardwork, Boon Tong Kee, a family-oriented casual restaurant where authentic Singaporean-Chinese dishes are cooked from the best quality ingredients and delicacy, has now become a must-visit destination in Singapore.
Cantonese chicken rice is one of Thailand’s national dishes that is available everywhere ranging from street side kiosks to proper Chinese restaurants, but Boon Tong Kee’s Cantonese chicken rice is different. Tender steamed chicken perfectly paired with fragrant steamed rice and flavourful sauces makes Boon Tong Kee’s chicken rice stands out from its competitors. For Boon Tong Kee (Thailand), we will continue Mr.Thian Boon Hua’s intention to prioritize authenticity, variety and consistency. Our ultimate goal is to ensure that customers will feel as if they are dining at Boon Tong Kee’s original branch in Balestier Road, Singapore.
